Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering
God's grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10
Why Should I Volunteer?
Volunteering is one of the ways that we can express our love and thanks
for all the things God has done for us. In addition, it is a great way to meet people and become connected
with others who share your particular interests. Serving will also make your church feel like a place you belong. And finally, by serving, we will find ourselves changing to become more Christ-like.
What Do I Need to Volunteer?
Simply a heart for God, and a willingness to serve. There are many opportunities to serve at First Christian Church. Volunteers are currently serving to meet needs inside the church, in our community, and beyond. Whether it is a few hours a week, or a few hours a month, the time you spend serving others could be the most rewarding time you spend. Regardless of your talents, interests, or availability, there is a place for you.
Where is the Best Place to Volunteer?
If you know what your interests, skills, talents or God-given spiritual gifts are, volunteering in a ministry that is looking for people with your abilities can be a great fit for both you and the ministry.
What if I'm not sure where I should Volunteer?
We offer several ways to get you started on finding the right ministry for you to serve in.
* A great way to start in by filling out the
volunteer interest survey and placing it in the service box in
the welcome center. The surveys are reviewed regualarly by our ministry teams and some one will get
in touch with you about an opptunity to serve.
* Sometimes finding the right place is knowing what's available. In the welcome center we have
posted ministries both in the church and in the community that are looking for assistance.
* We teach an "Everybody has a Part" class. It's a simple 8 week class that focuses on helping you
find a place to serve. The class is taught on a rotational basis. You can register for the next section in
the welcome center.
